Looking for a Few Blessed Dancers, Ministry Begins Auditions

Sunday, October 23, 2011 - On November 5th, San Diego Hip Hop dance ministry/crew, Rock Steady will be hosting its annual auditions in search of performers with not only talent but a heart for ministry. The group, which performs all through the state and abroad has set its sights on reaching the lost through music and choreography and has presented a number of themed performances throughout the year that have both gained the group notoriety and opened doors to further allow them to share the gospel with others.

Auditions will be held at the Culture Shock Studio at 2:20PM on November the 5th, 2011. The Rock Steady Dance Ministry is part of The Rock Church located in San Diego, California.

Rock Steady Ministries (founded in 2006) ministers through dance and testimonies to high schools, youth groups, church services, master classes, secular community events, and various outreach events throughout the city of San Diego. Dance Ministry Rocks Future Quest

June 28, 2011 – According to the Guttmacher Institute, in California, 897,700 of the 7,680,396 women of reproductive age became pregnant in 2008. 24% resulted in induced abortions. 1.2 million American women obtained abortions, producing a rate of 19.6 abortions per 1,000 women of reproductive age. No matter how you see the issues, whether from a biblical or a civil standpoint; the numbers are alarming. One of the ministries hoping to tacking this in a big way is San Diego’s Rock Steady Dance Ministry. This group of performers with a kingdom focus will perform at Future Quest on Friday, July 1, 2011.

The performance is best described by its director and founder Brandon Henschel:

“As far as the performance goes, basically what we have done is taken the issue of abortion and created a piece that is interactive with video. So your not just watching a dance onstage but your watching a video presentation with a pro life message that enhances the choreography on stage. Our outreach is meant to inspire people struggling with the option of abortion that there is another way and that with the power of God they can face this great fear and be victorious. We wanted to let them know that they are not alone in this situation, but that there is help available to give them the support they need so the pregnancy does no have to be aborted.  We also wanted people to know that there is forgiveness and healing for those that are dealing with post abortion trauma. We hope the pro life biblical message will not only save people spiritually, but will save the unheard voices of the unborn.”
